FIT file issues

Hello,

The other day I went on a long walk with a friend, and for a couple of hours I forgot to switch on the pause function. I found old posts telling me to use the section removal tool for FIT files, and I did that successfully. However, when I uploaded the new FIT file, the time didn't match reality. A 5+ hour walk (only 3+ of which was recorded that included sections of non-movement) became 40 minutes in length when I know for a fact that we walked a minimum of 2+ hours. So, what did I do wrong? I have the original FIT file and the adjusted ones; I did two, but I still don't understand how I erased so much time.

Thanks, J

  • You can also try running it through FIT File Viewer

If issue persists, attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable or see what the problem is.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.
