Gradient on climbs

It will be great if the gradient of the route is available in the player mode. That data is valuable when planning to attempt a new route. Motionbased has that capability.:(

One way to be able to see the Gradient of every point in a path is to export the path to Google Earth.

In Google Earth click on the path, then go into Edit, then into Show Elevation Profile, and then you can see the Gradient at any point on the path.

Of course it would be much better to be able to see this in GC :)

Another big +1 to have % grade in Garmin Connect. Having Categories for the climbs would also be great. It's a wonderful feature of MMR, and I wish it were here, now that I use the Edge 800.
  • Yes please! Like MapMyRide but hopefully bit more accurate. Cat climbs and it's average gradient aswell as max gradient etc for each climb which is at least cat 5.
  • I mean I import my Garmin into MapMyRide also and that gives me all the climbs, categorised and average gradients etc, why not GC??? It's one of the biggest things I want to see on my workout.

I'd also really love to see the percent grade shown. This is about the only thing I use Garmin Training Center for.

Specially, in the Player it'd be very useful to be able to plot Power/Heart Rate/Cadence/Speed vs Percent Grade. As a climber, that's the most interesting thing for me while training, and it's too hard to pick out steep sections of a climb just from an elevation profile.

Displaying a "Max Grade" for an activity would also be interesting for bragging rights.

I would also love to see this feature added to connect. It is strange that it is included in training center, but not online.

    New to GC.
Anyone know if it is yet possible to see power, HR, and grade in the same map with GC?
Does Training Peaks do this - or any other software?
GC seems pretty useless without it.
  • Gradients would be great but even simpler would be the stats for each climb, like climb one, 1 mile: 200m, as well as the total ascent for the whole run that they already show. At the moment you have to pretty much guess what the climbs are from the gradient graph which is pretty poor.

+1 plus a 30s averaged vertical speed graph. Would be great for mountain running and ski mountaineering!
