765t Bluetooth

I linked my phone to my Nuvi 765T without incident, but it has a couple of glitches.

1. If I bring my phone in the house, and go back to the car the next day, it fails to automatically find it and link.
2. When I receive a call, the screen reads answer or ignore. I touch answer, and it connects, except that I can't hear them, and they can't hear me. IF I tell it to transfer the audio to phone, and then tell it to transfer the audio to unit, it works fine, but by then, the incoming caller will probably have hung up, or I will have driven off of the road.

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

thanks

    Similar problem

I have a very similar problem....Paired my iPhone without incident but cannot hear the caller through the device, only through the phone. They can hear me. Tried the "switch audio to device" and nothing changed. Any ideas???

    765T Bluetooth

While my sync works very well from my T Mo Dash, the phone will only show when I reboot my 765T with the phone ready, all the call and phone book info shows up very nicely. But I am also plagued with another problem this problem is: My Dash has voice to text capability so when I receive a message the phone will read the message aloud via the speaker or the bluetooth in my ear. So every time I get a message I do not have to touch the phone, it just read the message to me. Now come the problem, the Nuvi does not play that audio at all, it is not activated. This is a software feature I would very much like to have, With this feature I would be able to play the MP3's or other audio through my Nuvi, and hopefully patch it through the FM transmitter. Our cell phone are a great source of audio which will not play on the Nuvi. My Dash and other cell phone has the capability to play audio through bluetooth Car head units and is really a excellent feature.
I just wanted to start a thread to address this feature and get the ball rolling.

    Same problem

I have the same problem. Is anyone from Garmin reading this thread and providing help for 765 users? One of the reasons that I bought this unit was for the hands-free function. What is wrong??????

I also have this problem and the same work-around (switch to phone then back to Nuvi) "fixes" the problem for that call. I have updated all software on the unit. Currently running 4.00. My phone works fine on my Zumo 550.

I have a service request in with tech support. If I get an answer I will post it here.

Bluetooth reception not clear to listener on recieving side of call

I have a Nuvi 765T and although the bluetooth feature is nice, the person I am talking to describes the conversation as breaking up. The reception on my end, listening to the conversation on the Garmin 765T is clear as a bell. I have had difficulties with this feature since I purchased this GPS in 2009. I also purchased the Garmin Microphone, but it does not seem to make a difference. Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this problem?

Another unhappy Nuvi 765 Bluetooth user

I have a Nuvi 765 and have the other person can't hear me problem with both my motorola V9 and my samsung galaxy S i9000 phones, so it seem to be related to the nuvi 765.

My wife has a Nuvi 760 that works flawlessly on bluetooth with the motorola V9 and both our Samsung Galaxy S phones.

Also when I connect an external microphone to the Nuvi 760 the other person says the audio is much clearer than using the internal microphone.

When I connect the same external microphone to the Nuvi 765 the other person says the audio is terrible with lots of whining and other noises.

The problem is intermittent and an immediate redial can often result in no loss of audio for the other person, so it seems not related to their phone.

A transfer of the call from the Nuvi 765 to the phone handset results in audio for the other person in every case.

So that puts the Nuvi 765 in the heap of .... category for bluetooth operation.

I wonder why we've heard nothing from Garmin on this topic?
Must be afraid to admit how bad the problem is!!
