How come Garmin Connect does not allow you to automatically publish to facebook or twitter? That seems to be a common feature on other online sports sites.

It would also be great if Garmin Connect became more of a community like Daily Mile where people can comment on other people's workouts, support each other, and motivate!

After you change your privacy in general, it looks like the activity can still have the privacy memory from your previous settings. If you look at your activity details, to the left of the greyed out "Share" button, you can see an icon with a lock. Change that lock to allow everyone and then you'll be able to share that activity.

Not sure if this is still an on going problem. (only just bought a Garmin)

If you originally had privacy set to Private and then changed it to Everyone, I had to re-import my ride from my device. The share button was then not greyed out.

I then clicked on the lock icon to change settings for the ride.

When you click on share, it generates a new tab/window via a pop up. So make sure pop-up blocker isn't switched on.

I was having the same problem, but figured it out. Next to the greyed out 'share' button is a lock for privacy. Even if your privacy is all unlocked in the settings, you need to click on the lock and select 'everyone'. The lock with then appear 'unlocked' and you will be able to post.
  • It also would be important to upgrade the "find friends" feature, because the browsing method is to limited....
