One-time Live Track URL to share

Hi all,

I'm gonna do a long fundraiser ride (https://www.voorwarchild.nl/fundraisers/manno-bult-2) and I want to share the live track URL with my sponsors. I got the Connect+ triel for the occasion, but it seems when I share that personal URL, _everyone_ can see _all_ rides I do. This is not what I want obviously, for sure not the _all_.

Does anyone know of a quick way to share a URL other than starting the ride, getting the URL sent to safety contacts and pasting that in an email or something? Some way to share in advance, so I don't have to bother with that stuff when we actually want to be focusing on riding :)

    Create a mailing list and add that email address as a LiveTrack recipient. Then it is up to your contacts to subscribe to that mailing list.

    Thanks. yeah, I was hoping to be able to mail them in advance, but it seems I cannot get around that I first have to start the activity.

    The connect+ URL is in a way nice, but then everyone can see when I'm out riding for as long as I have the account which is not very desirable. Purely because of that I might cancel the account. 

    Not sure what I was hoping that tracking option would bring, maybe more options to configure...

    You can change the Connect+ URL whenever you like. Change URL and then send it to the contacts. Tell them to not share it. 

    After the event you change URL again.

    Do you know where in the settings? I have a trial and I know I could pick a URL when signing up, but cannot find any reference to it now. Only some privacy settings.

    Correct location: More > Safety & Tracking > LiveTrack > LiveTrack Profile & Privacy > Edit LiveTrack Profile

    I do not use Connect+, so cannot comment on it, but if it were me, I would simply use one of the many social media like FB, Instagram, Twitter, and similar. Most of them have the option to post to your account by email. So it is enough to add a dedicated email address for the postings, and then add the same address to the standard (non GC+) Live Track recipients. In this way, each time you start a new session, the tracking URL will be posted to your social media account. And with some basic scripting skills, you could create your own website, embedding the Live Track map automatically, each time it changes.

    You can change the privacy of your livetrack profile at any time. 

    The ability to set the privacy to "Only Me" for current and past sessions seems like it would fulfill your use case perfectly. I haven't tried it though. (I don't have Connect+ and I don't use LiveTrack.)

    (Before you start a session that you want to share with everyone, you could toggle the activity session privacy to Everyone, and when you're done, you could toggle it back to Only Me.)
