Dakota 20 - Memory problem

I've searching around, but can't find any solution to my problem,
therefor I have to ask the forum a question.

A friend of mine came by the other day, with his Christmas present,
a Dakota 20 (no memory card), along with City Navigator and a Topo map.

I installed all on his computer, chose some maps, and transfered the
maps to the device. After a few minutes, MapSource came with a
message: The maps I'm trying to transfer is aprox . 123MB but there
is only 941MB free memory on the device (something like that).
I should try fewer maps.
I don't understand, should be more than enough memory left.

I chose some maps from CN and/or Topo, about 50-60MB, and
I was able to transfer these.

Dakota should have 850MB internal memory, reading on the box.

Do anyone know why I get this message?

I was hopeing not to buy a memory card.

Couple suggestings. First I would suggest to download the latest MapSource by clicking on the following link:

http://www8.garmin.com/software/MapSource_6157.exe

Also I would suggest to download and install WebUpdater to check for updates for the Dakota by clicking on the following link:

http://www8.garmin.com/software/WebUpdaterforWindows_242.exe

Last but not least I would recommend using a microSD card no larger than 4 GB to store your maps.

Hi there, thanks a lot, I'll give it a try, and let you know.

But, since the Dakota 20 have 850MB internal memory,
this should be more than enough to load the maps he need.

I'll see what I find out.
