calories vs kcalories

I have a forerunner 745, the activities on the watch indicates the calories in Kcal (example 261 Kcal), on the app or the webpage connect garmin, the same activity give the same number in cal (example: 261 calories)

It means there is a factor 1000 error on the APP and the web page.compare to the watch.

In North America, in the context of nutrition (and exercise, I guess), "calorie" always means "large calorie" which is the same as 1000 small calories (or 1 kilocalorie).

Yes it's confusing, and Garmin should probably use consistent terminology.

Although not officially standardized, the term "Calories" or "Cal" with uppercase C is typically used for kilocalories (kcal), while "calories" / "cal" for the small calories.

It's confusing that the watches and web/app interface don't behave the same.
