Long time Forerunner user, account deletion.

Hello everyone, have used Forerunner for many years, not so active on these forums, but always using Garmin Connect app on phone with my training. 2 months ago I get email from Garmin stating my account will be deleted for non activity for many years. I followed the link in email to sign into Garmin. 1 month ago, same email and same process to sign in to my Garmin account. Now I get 3 days till deletion email. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

  • Are you receiving this email to the same email address you use to login to Garmin Connect? It could be an old account you don't use. I would not suggest following a link in an email, even if it appears to be from Garmin.

    Yes, it's easy to fall for it. If you don't look carefully, garmin.com can also be confused with garnim.com.

  • Hello seilogramp, and thankyou for your helpful response. It seems this was the case. As I posted here, I had also emailed Garmin support. Support responded with similar statement, that I may have another account on an alternative email.

    I dont recall ever registering another account or email, however in my confusion (and after several years of not posting here) I may have tried to log on and/or register with a recovery email associated with my primary email used to register here.

  • Hello bluefish, thankyou for your helpful response. Your suggestion is very valid as todays online scams seem to replicate with detailed accuracy the genuine web sites the scammers copy.

    I did however check countless times the html domain name in the address bar, both on my phone and computer browser.

    I cant agree more how easy it is to fall for this kind of online phishing, it is hard to detect.
