Explore Activities Search not working at all

I had a similar experience recently. I was trying to do a similar, simple search, and kept getting the "search area too broad" message too, no matter what I did. I just gave up.

Just now I did a test. I typed in running and my zip code. It didn't find any of my running activities, but it found some others. I zoomed out a level or two so that the map was about a 20 mile square, retained the "running" keyword, and clicked search, and got the "search area too broad" message. A 20 mile square area doesn't cover the metropolitan area where I live, so a search this size shouldn't return an error. I also get the same error for a 5 x 5 mile map area and a 2 x 2 mile map area.

So back to my running search in my zip code. It returns over 10 pages of results. If I click on a random page, say, page 6, I get the same "search area too broad" error, but there are, oddly, three pages of results. If I click on one of those pages, I get a page of results, but now there's only 3 pages of results compared to the >10 pages of results when I first started the search. About half the time I try to go through the pages of search results, I get the usual "too broad" error.

BTW, I never did find any of my runs searching this way. Then I tried something that I thought would surely work -- typing in my username and various combinations of my zip code, city, state, and the current map view. Same error over and over again.

It worked well this summer, where you could search a broad area of land, but it's now back to hardly working at all... unless you zoom in to a ridiculously small area of land
Roughly, 2 square miles.
Fairly useless as it stands.

I live in Africa, and in the past I could search for public activities in Nairobi and other capital cities in Africa ... but for the last month (or longer) there have been ABSOLUTELY NO RESULTS when I search for activities in those cities. Garmin, is there a date by which you expect to have this working again? Truly, this is one of the best features of Garmin.Connect and if you don't deal with this it will make your product obsolete! Thank you.
