Adding Distance to .tcx

Does anyone know how to add distance to a TCX file on Windows? I can add distance in sports tracks but I can't get it back to garminconnect.

Are you familiar with how to edit XML?

If so you can open a tcx file with a text editor to correct an incorrect distance
