Dakota 20 'activities'

Can anyone help me in explaining what an activity is please? If I ride my bike from A to B then stop for 1 hr before riding from B to C then it would record it as one activity, what do I have to do to get it recorded as 2 activities without the 1 hour stop in the middle?
What defines when an activity starts & stops as such?

Cheers and sorry about all the questions!

    Hi

An activity is recorded when you press and hold the reset button to reset the counters to zero. If you press stop and start without resetting you will record laps within the same activity. e.g. If you press start at the beginning of your ride. You press stop when you have lunch. You press start again after lunch and press stop and reset at the end of the ride you will get one activity containing 2 laps.

    Cheers, Mark

    Mark,

Thank you for the reply but what do you mean 'If you press start at the beginning of your ride. You press stop when you have lunch' ????

There aren't any start & stop functions on the Dakota20???

    Cheers

Hi - Please look at post "Oregon 300 - Save portion of a track" which is just above your post. I think the Dakota and Oregon are similar units and I am having a problem saving parts of a walk, cycle route or drive. The worst one was a 59 mile trip to York which showed only as a single activity without any Portions or Segments. Check yours out to see if it saves Portions - Track Manager/Current Track/Save Portion and see if there are multiple Segments to save
