What can cause the calories calculated for an activity to be totally wrong. My calories are counting like 400 calories lower than it used to and I think it was related to an update. Active Calories and Total Calories is totally off.

My calories do not calculate correctly. this has been going on for about two weeks I think, and I do recall an update of software on watch. I do not know the algorithm to be able to calculate the correct calories burned number. I noticed is star with Cardio exercises but now see the same for Indoor walking and indoor cycling. I need to know how to correct this issue.

  • Maybe they done the calibration becouse the actual calories that you are burn are maybe -30 or -40 % .... Is not normal for me to burn 1200 calories for a training this is crazy big amount and is not realistic

For me whit 1 hour moderate cardio and 30 minutes weight lifting  is normal to burn 700-800 calories not 1200

If you are atlete and professional sportist than yes you can burn 1200 calories but for man like me this is impossible

So do a research in google or try ChatGPT write a lot information about you about your ages what are you eat how much are you training what is you puls and he can provide you better info that fitness machines even

Also the most cardio machine show 30% more calories than you burn

Watch bodybuilders to see what info they provide for calorie burn

Chech Greg Doucete he have video about calories burning

  • Not sure I understand what you wrote below. I was talking about my Fenix 8 used to show me a certain amount for calories burned for repetitive workouts but now they are lower by about 400 calories. I normally do a walk of 1.5 miles and that usually comes out to about 200 calories but today, I got 80 calories. I also do bands, calisthenics and dumbbell workout for over an hour and that is about 500 calories and today, I got 90. That is way off the mark for my workouts. I am not talking about 1200 calories or anything, but I do want the Active/Total Calories to be calculated correctly.

  • I give a example for my calories experience to see how and what is changed for me and now when i check the training data the biggest change is in cardio activity the used calories there are lower than before but the calories for weight lifting are almost the same

  • I will need to call Garmin and see if they have a way to correct this issue.

  • maybe the last stats was issue for me the old calories was too much
