Missing activities in Explore-Activities

The last public activity from my area, (Christchurch, New Zealand) is 25th November. However, I made an activity public yesterday (5th December) which should be showing and there are other regular public contributors and it is not showing their activities either.

The strange thing is that for the current default, (Denver) there are up-to-date activities. Is this just a local problem?
  • GC Explore Activities: Search not working

No, your problem is not a local one. There seems to be an ongoing problem with GC Explore>Activities. Garmin Forum moderators insist that this works like a Google search (see this post, but it does not. I took issue with that claim, including an example for a search I did, comparing GC Explore Activities and Google Maps, but never got a reply. At the time of my post to that thread I got at least a few hits. Since then, searching Explore Activities seems to have deteriorated even more. Currently, I can't get any results for even a narrow search like "orienteering" in "Minnesota, USA."

I just hope that Garmin will be able to sort this out because the sharing and social media aspect of GC could be one of its primary strengths and attractions. I found that this (like most every other) feature worked much better on the old MotionBased service.

The search seems to have tightened

    Thanks,

    I have found my activities!

I live 2km away from the city centre of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is too far away to find them. They won't even come up when I enter my suburb because google put the name in a funny place too far away from my house. To find them I had to search for a small street around the corner. At least I know now that they haven't disappeared, but it means that I am missing out on great ideas and benchmark times for rides.

I can understand for big cities not having all activites come up, but how about setting a larger radius like 10km or miles from the search?

    DAVEA97, CFOSP1,

We are aware of the issues limiting Explore's search capabilities and are working on a solution.
