How can I display the lap counters on the map display?

I used to be able to see little lap counters displayed on the map of an activity in Garmin Connect. How can I get those to show up?

Do you have laps enabled on your Garmin device? If so, then open an activity and click on the map layers icon.

Then select "Laps."
