Changing Garmin Forum screen name

How do you change your screen name, e.g., from "adsager" to something else? I do not see anything in the UserCP to change my screen name.

    Currently, there is no option within the forum to change screen names. Changing your screen name is possible, although the process might not be as easy as we want it to be. There are two ways to change your screen name:

    1. You can contact product support and request to change your 'myGarmin username'. Once you have changed your myGarmin username, you will have to let me know and I will inform the Forum administrator to refresh your name in the forum.
    2. Create a new account with the name you want. You will need to use a different e-mail id.

    Thanks, but

    Thanks for the info about the screen name. Now, do you know how to get help with the useability issue. I cannot get HP to run properly on either of two PCs which both exceed system requirements. I shut down all non-system tasks and processes, still know luck. You have any ideas?

    Is there any update to this? Somehow I have accidentally ended up with a screen name matching my email address. Which is not desirable.

    Is there any easy way of changing my display name in Garmin Forum without mucking up my connect.garmin or mygarmin accounts?

    me too! i logged in with yahoo and smehow my screen name is my full email address! Stupid I can't change it. Thanks Garmin NOW HOW DO I CHANGE IT???

    Same here.... email as a screen name, not good! Have tried to contact product support but ended up on a database error message at the end of the multi-screen trail.

    Problem still not resolved 10 years later:s ... The basic feature of any normal forum is missing...

    My regular account had my firstname.lastname used in my email (without the @something end) that I didn't want to display on public forum so I used the laughable suggested workaround to create another account, and it's still a good garmin implementation : now i got a weird numerical  nickname displayed that I never used during account creation.

    Congrats Garmin...

    I did not try to save it, but the user name is editable in forum profile settings. Did you try changing it there? I mean the name right of the avatar, that you can also change as you want.

    As  mentioned, in the new Garmin forums you have the ability to edit your own forum name in your profile. Go to your profile, click "edit profile," then edit the name in the text box. Also, if your original account is still out there, that can be edited as well if you prefer to use that one. If you need assistance, please feel free to PM me and I'll do it for you. Thanks.

    Yes it works thanks a lot, with my older account I tried that initially and see the avatar can be edited but didn't see the nickname switch to an editable text field + the several old posts pointing the missing feature and the weird numerical id as nickname make me a little bit angry and doubt about the serious of Garmin forum.

    Glad to see they fixed it finally :)
