Repairing corrupt .fit file

[solved]

I am writing to you today with a rather frustrating issue. I have a corrupted FIT file from my Garmin device, and unfortunately, I've encountered difficulties trying to repair it using various online recovery websites and software. Despite my best efforts, the process has proven to be quite challenging, and I haven't been successful on my own.

I would be incredibly grateful if you could lend your expertise and offer any guidance or assistance you might have in recovering this damaged FIT file. Your help would be immensely appreciated, as this data is quite important to me. Thank you so much for considering my request and for any support you might be able to provide.

  • Technically, it's not corrupt, as Garmin does accept the original fit file as is. However, it appears that GPS was off during a stretch of the ride. This is shown by the straight line on the map of the ride.

What was the distance and time supposed to be? Does it show correctly on your Edge device along with the correct map, without the straight line?

  • At any rate, I did come up with a repaired version where I removed the timestamps at the point where the GPS track started acting strange.

  • A very long straight line is included.
In fact, time, distance, and acquisition altitude are 14:53:36, 337.02 km, and 2,251 m, respectively, the same as the fit file.
The part I want to fix is the problem of being marked in a straight line.

Did you upload the repaired file I posted above? No straight line.

  • Yes, I've checked it.

It is three times longer than the route you posted, but the route is not coming out.

It was a problem that occurred after Garmin was rebooted just before the end of the ride, but there seems to be no solution.

    Thank you for your help.

The second half of the record remains live track, but I don't think there's a way to get the data.

    Thank you for your help.
