I just need to vent, I guess. I love my Edge 305. Had it for almost 3 years. But TC is so unreliable and GC makes matters worse. Every time I try to load courses from TC to my Edge I have problems. Course Transfer Failed, 9 times out of 10. Maybe more. And now when I try to download someone's course from GC (which for some reason I can only do as a tcx and not as a crs), TC won't load the tcx. Doesn't give any errors, mind you...it just ingests the file and doesn't list any new courses. Of course going straight from GC to my Edge doesn't work either. So I'm left with searching MB for old courses, downloading the crs, and then fighting with TC to get the stupid course onto my Edge. Most often I eventually give up and ride the course blind the first time. How can a company that makes such sweet handheld devices release such unreliable support software? As a software engineer, computer system architect, and project lead myself I know the difficulties, but holy cow is this frustrating. I'm really having second thoughts about getting a 705.
BTW, I have the latest TC and the recommended s/w version on my Edge and I'm running XP. If anyone has any suggestions I'd sure love to hear them. I've been fighting this for several years now and never seen a solution that worked, but hope springs eternal.
