menu disappears

Hello,

I use Safari on MacOs. Since a couple of days the main menu on the left in connect disappears, even when I click the menu open button

I can open it, but when I chose an option the menu collapse again, it used to stay open. Also, since the same time the Lactate Threshold screen shows only the current data. The graph on 4w and 12w are blank.

  • I am not employed by Garmin. I am a volunteer forum moderator.

  • Alright, thanks for your help, appreciated.

    I really hope that Garmin people will chime in.

  • This doesn't apply to your older browser, but this issue was reported and fixed - menu disappears

    No, it's not fixed. And you locked the thread too soon (I really don't know why you locked the thread at all).

    Firefox 115.23.0esr works fine for all other homepages and also shortly before for GC. But Garmin changed something and now GC is unusable with Firefox. Also other formatting of the page is no longer correct (e.g. text overlay in several places).

    Similar happens with Opera 95.0.4635.90.

    Unfortunately the forum SW doesn't like me and prevents me from dragging and dropping images into comments. That's why I can't show it here.

    You are correct, so I unlocked the thread and merged the two, as they are related.

    Perhaps you can send me a PM and you can email it to me as an attachment. Then I can update your post.

    Of course, dragging and dropping images is the easiest way to attach photos, but there are other ways, such as inserting the image from the Insert dropdown menu.

    Maybe you've already tried that?

  • Hi,

    For a month now, I can no longer use my Garmin connect web account because the left main menu is no longer visible

    I am using the Chrome navigator Version 109.0.5414.120 (Build officiel) (64 bits)

    Even with Firefox I have the same result

  • Which operating system are you using? Earlier in this thread some users are reporting issues using Windows 7. If you're on a newer OS, is there a reason you can't update Chrome to the latest? Chrome version 109.0.5414.120 was released on January 25, 2023.

  • I am using Windows 8.1 and can't update because M$ has discontinued support. It seems that Garmin is now supporting M$ to make more money.

    I've tried some browsers w/o success:

    -Firefox 115.23.0esr
    * homepage available
    * Menu on the left side is messed up

    - Opera 95.0.4635.90
    * Homepage is empty
    * Menu on the left side is messed up

    - Chrome 109.0.5414.168
    * Homepage is empty
    * Menu on the left side is messed up

    - Edge 109.0.1518.140
    * Homepage is empty
    * Menu on the left side is messed up

    Unfortunately the above mentioned workarounds doesn't solve the problem for me.

    I also sent an email to Garmin support, but they recommend clearing the browser cache. And if that doesn't help, they want a video. So I'll try to make a video soon.

    And I'll not install another insecure third party browser.

  • Thank you for the details. I suspect that  might have the same OS limitation but wanted to make sure.

  • I read that you wrote "I'll not install another insecure...." but: did you try supermium? A few users who still are on windows 7 are using this browser, because it seems to be the only one, which supports older OS but uses latest technology so almost every webside is shown correctly.

    I suggest: give it a try.

    and [OT] your sentence: "It seems that Garmin is now supporting M$ to make more money". No it's not. In the past (2000 and later) it was very difficult to build webpages because you have to support every browser and the need to test the webpage on them. Nowadays almost every browser uses the same technology and supports the latest w3c standards so developers don't have to test the webpage on every OS on every browser on every version --> it's almost impossible. It's okay if the developer tests the functionality on chrome, edge and firefox and maybe on other os like linux and mac too. But that's it.
