menu disappears

Hello,

I use Safari on MacOs. Since a couple of days the main menu on the left in connect disappears, even when I click the menu open button

I can open it, but when I chose an option the menu collapse again, it used to stay open. Also, since the same time the Lactate Threshold screen shows only the current data. The graph on 4w and 12w are blank.

  • The slide out menu on the left side of the window does not work.

There is another post about it from 21 days ago with the same problem and multiple responses, with screenshots, titled "menu disappears".

  • It would be good if you could describe in detail what is not working for you.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess OP means this:

    https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/410185/menu-disappears

I bet you could've guessed that too, if you were willing to engage in good faith.

    I can't see any problems.

Be that as it may, I don't really understand this seemingly standard response whenever anyone reports a software/hardware product issue online. (Not just in this community.)

The fact that one person doesn't see a problem doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist for others. Quite often (not necessarily in this case), the person who responds "I don't see the problem" made zero effort to understand what the OP was talking about or reproduce it on their end.

Imagine how annoying it would be if a bunch of people responded to this post with "I can't see any problems":

Ofc that's different bc that's an issue that's important to you.

I don't know what you're trying to tell me. Unlike the problem in this thread, “my” problem was a general app problem.

I never claimed that everyone notices this problem, as it was also clear from my description that this problem only exists under certain conditions (device firmware/app versions).

After I opened a developer ticket, the developers fixed the problem with the next release of the Connect IQ app (V2.36). Kudus to the Garmin developers Thumbsup

(I wonder if everyone has done the same about the issue in this thread, because posting here doesn't mean Garmin will pick up on it).

    …“

Our US colleagues had created a ticket for you,

regarding the Connect IQ app content.

The situation should be resolved with the current Connect IQ version

    (2.36).“…

I wonder if you missed that Garmin has summarized threads here.

Because the OP I asked the question to posted his own (very general) thread a few hours ago:

There are many topics. I'm sorry that I couldn't guess which of the problems was meant ;)

If questions and their answers or counter-questions are taken out of context by the moderators by summarizing threads, the cause is not the poster.

The fact that one person doesn't see a problem doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist for others.

In order to address this, you first need to know WHAT the problem is.

    So to clarify:

statement was "Connect web does not work.

My answer: „Please describe your problem. I have no problem.“

You're right, it would have been better - I can't see any in my case.

  • If questions and their answers or counter-questions are taken out of context by the moderators by summarizing threads

Yes, that's my fault. I usually announce in the thread when I do this, but I neglected to this time. At least the OP received an email indicating that the thread was joined to the ongoing discussion.

  • thank you for the clarification !!! :)

I'm sorry that this thread just got a little offtopic. But there were obviously misunderstandings, which I wanted to clarify.

  • I recieved a response from support (in dutch). They claim they solved it. I tried, but no succes. They asked to call them of that’s the case. But on workdays.

  • I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the problem will be fixed quickly. I use the Opera browser on mac (Standard installation without modifications) , and have no problems with it. Maybe this is a workaround for you until Garmin fixes the problem.

  • Maybe technically it is because of the use of this feature (using an ampersand & as CSS selector): https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Nesting_selector
In my browser where it doesn't work, the CSS shows an error at the corresponding position.

  • I think you have centered the problem . I try to change css with developers tools on windows 7 and firefox . I try to repair some css with the help of chatgpt and the nav menu with subitems like activity and other return to work . Before is showing like a normal list without css like image i have posted some post before  , with some parts of submenu hide and link not working. I think there are other parts because menu not have all css rules apply but works . the css fixed is the onle loaded in the head section . start with .MenuItem_menuItem__HyydK  .  and .MainSidebar_sidebarMenuGroups__8dbXJ 4 and 3  tag style before /web-react/js/cultures/globalize.culture.it.js"> .     .  For menu that is hide by default is simple ...  body tag class  minimize-main-nav have to be removed and menu stay open .. if is close by icon if you go over menu is open by main-nav-hover and return to close if you go out of menu . but if you return to open with icon stay always open ..  i don't know with is so difficult to solve this problem ...  With this two stupid fix return to works with firefox and windows 7 and the other problem for who whant the menu always open ..
