How does the privacy zone work? I have set it around my house but notice when i join a group that my uploaded walk map shows the start and stop position of my walk at my house?

You will always see your own activities full. Log out, or log in with a different account to check how the activity appears to others.

thanks for the answer but unfortunately i only have one account and don't know any others. Still, it seems an odd way to have to check that the software is doing what it claims to do?

Make the activity public, and check it with an alternative browser, without signing in.

As trux mentioned, this is how it works. I logged in with an alternate account to test, just to make sure nothing has changed. The track of my route ends exactly where the privacy zone starts. Logged in using my primary account, I can see the entire route.
