Release schedule

There are a lot of feature requests here.
What would be really useful is a release schdule of when the development team plan to add them

I totally agree, and also a list of acknowledged requests which are being considered and approved.

Yeah...I totally agree also...And have stated are begged for such on this forum numerous times. Nice to see others requesting the same.

However, if the Garmin team is to be judged like Mutual Funds (on past results), I'm not real optimistic!

They host a "What's New" page hidden away under the help menu accessed from the connect.garmin.com page at:
    http://connect.garmin.com/help/whatsnew

and based on their "What's New" page, apparently the answer is somewhere between "NOTHING" and "NOT MUCH".

The top of the page proudly boast:
"Garmin Connect is updated about once a month with bug fixes, improvements and new features."

Yet, to my knowledge the last release was 8/25/2009...we're rapidly approaching the THREE month mark without an update! While the "Coming Soon" section mentions a total of four items...not to even begin to try and predict when "Soon" will be!

Again, my main problem with the Garmin Team is not that it's been nearly 3 months without an update...I understand software development and delays happen. My complaint is the TOTAL ABSENCE OF COMMUNICATION with their customer base. How about a little communication as a common courtesy, a couple of sentences (dare to dream, maybe a paragraph) with a brief explanation and an "estimate" or "tentative" date for the next update. While I'm dreaming maybe they could include some detail on what issues the next update is suppose to address.

Garmin, just throw us a bone every now and then....WOULD YOU?

I Guess the feature I'm requesting is better communication and updates concerning future releases and issues that those release will address. This is something that could and should be fixed immediately!
  • Absolutely agree.

Communication is a key part of customer service and frequent updates on the above should be the bare minimum.

Quite surprised that a large company like garmin are missing the trick.

A simple monthly update on the release schedule would at least sshow some interest in customer requirements

Is it a normal expectation for a team to post product plans about website releases? For example, can I get a similar list for facebook, twitter, flickr or say blogger?

Last I checked, facebook, twitter, flickr, and blogger wasn't selling hardware devices ranging in cost from $400 to $650 (I'm referring to Garmin's cycling line of products)... that were advertised and marketed boasting about the advantages of the software interface!

And YES, it is common for software teams to announce release dates. It's also common knowledge that these dates are "tentative" and subject to change, but an honest effort is usually made.

    Just throw us a bone

Garmin, just throw us a bone every now and then....WOULD YOU?

I was lead to believe months ago that “total time” vs. “Ride” or “run” time was high in the feature list. – After repeated attempts in contacting Garmin, I have yet to hear a word from them, how frustrating.

What does it take to get through – please Garmin just throw us a Bone please anything.
