Has it restricted to upload from ANT Agent to GC ??? /// Alwways incorrect username & password combination

I am a long term user of ANT Agent. I know the tricks how to make both GE and ANT Agent work on the same PC.

But today after an appr. one-year hiatus I tried not just to download .fit fand .tcx iles from my 910XTs, but to upload the .fit ones to GC. ANT Agent did not accept my username & password combination. Not even those of my wife which I tried to use it as a test.

I even installed ANT Agent on another PC on which GE never had run, and on that PC it worked in the very same way, that is downloading were OK, but not uploading.

I even created a new GC account as a test,just to be sure that username could not be different from the email address I used when registering. NB: I know that the real name in GC or the display name in GC are different from username, but just in case I wanted to test it, too.

I spotted many years ago that ANT Agent not just did not get sw updates, but after a while there were always error messages when I clicked on "Check for Software Updates" as a test saying it "encountered an error ...." etc.

My brief question: has been ANT Agent completely shut down by Garmin, there is no more possible to use it to upload files???

FYKI my tests were both on W11 and W10.

EDIT: I took my 15 year old laptop from a closet and test it, too. That laptop runs on Windows 7. I got the same error of incorrect username and password combo.

    To answer your question, I've verified that it's still working for me.

    • Windows 11 version 24H2
    • Garmin Express for Windows version 7.25.0
    • Forerunner 310XT (from 2009).
    • USB ANT+ Stick

    Since it's been a while since I used the ANT+ stick and the 310XT...

    • Powered on the 310XT and did a short test run
    • Connected the ANT+ stick to the computer
    • On the 310XT went to Settings > Data Transfer > Enabled = Yes, Pairing = On
    • Quit Garmin Express in the system tray
    • Launched Garmin Express
    • Clicked on "Add a Device" as it would not find it automatically
    • After about 1 minute GE found the new device
    • On the 310XT selected Yes on the "Pair Garmin?" prompt
    • In Garmin Express, prompted to "Sync with Garmin Connect," clicked sign in, then entered my Garmin account credentials, the same one used in Garmin Connect Web and the Garmin Connect app
    • "Transferring Data" appeared on the 310XT
    • My test run and my "new" device appeared in Garmin Connect

    Wow, you detailed a sequence about how you use Garnin Express and an ANT+ stick with your 310XT.

    But I wrote about whether ANT Agent software is restricted by Garmin. 

    All my post was about my attempts to use Ant Agent 2.3.4 which worked as an upload tool few years ago, even if has been not updated for a decade or so, and it is labelled as discontinued sw.

    Anyway thank you for spending your time answering to me.

    My apologies. Let me see if I can find a copy of ANT Agent from my NAS backup.

    If you dont trust the so-called free sw downloader sites I can share mine which was downloaded years ago from Garmin site.

    I tried, but failed. I see you in "Find recipients" if I start to type your display name, but if I click on the message (white text with gray background) under your long Garmin ID number, nothing happens. I even tried to click on your name, nothing.

    I am going to reqzest a friendship.

    Have not you restricted who can send you an email?

    Got it. I installed it and like you, the login does not work. However, I cancelled out of the login and allowed the data transfer to complete anyway.

    I checked the folder

    C:\Users\<myWindowsLogin>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\<MyDeviceID>\Garmin Connect\Pending Uploads.

    And found the test activities I just completed on the 310XT. From there had to do a manual upload to Garmin Connect Web.

    Agreed. You can find acttivities also in Activities folder (.fit) and History folder (.tcx equivalent), or your Fitness Scale .fit file in Weight folder.

    The latter was what I wanted to upload.

    So RIP ANT Agent as uploader. I loved it
