Signed up for a cycling coach plan, but keep getting served both cycling and running workouts each day. How can I stop getting the running workouts?

I only ride bikes, haven’t run for years. I configured a cycling program on Garmin coach, which gets served up to both my Fenix 8 and an Edge 1050. However, every day, I get both cycling AND running workouts. I don’t need or want the running workout.  I went into Connect on the web, and looked at my coaching program, it is clearly a cycling only program. How can I fix this?

  • Isn't the running workouts the daily suggested workouts? Turn off the prompt for that and see if that helps.

  • I did do that, but it didn’t change anything. Each day, I see suggested workouts for both running and cycling on both my watch and my cycling computer. I’ve also tried “pause workouts “ under the running activity. No change.

  • First thing I would report this to Garmin Support.

I am actually doing opposite and know that for easy run days I can select bike instead of run.

When I open schedule.fit file located this folder \Forerunner 955\Internal Storage\GARMIN\Coach on FIT File Viewer site I can see this:

Do you notice cycling in row 3? For me this is workout when I select Bike activity. I bet you will have similar entries.

But with Morning report I do not see that Bike one, just running. It might be that my watch - Forerunner is by default addressed for runners, while yours Fenix is Outdoor and then shows both "possible" workouts for a day. My Edge 520+ do not show any "morning report".
