Garmin Connect App prefer the Fitbit App

Hi

Can you please suggest to Garmin to update their app to the Fitbit App as much better, find Garmin Connect an awful app and not clear and easy like Fitbit App.  Have always loved my Fitbit watches and app but now Garmin have taken Fitbit over have been told they are going to delete app and will have to use Garmin Connect which I absolutely hate!

I am currently just adding my steps to the Fitbit app at the end of the day which is okay with me, just want it to keep going forever as absolutely love the Fitbit app.

Regards

Karin

  • How has Garmin "taken Fitbit over" ? Garmin does not own Fitbit, Google does.

  • You really need to do some research as Google owns Fitbit, I think you are talking about Google's Health Connect which has nothing to do with Garmin.

  • Well I received an email from Garmin to say that if I want to keep my Fitbit data that I will have to transfer it over to Garmin Connect as they have bought out Fitbit!

  • I received a similar email on Friday, but it was from fitbit and it was regarding transferring accounts over to Google...

You are receiving this email because there is an important upcoming change to your Fitbit account and action is required.

As we have previously shared, Fitbit is now a part of Google, and Fitbit Account holders will need to transition to Google Accounts to continue using Fitbit. If you want to keep using Fitbit, you must move to a Google Account by 2 February 2026. If you use a Gmail account to sign in to Fitbit, you must also move to a Google Account. Learn more.

If you do not move to a Google Account by the deadline, you will not be able to continue using the Fitbit service. Your historical data will not be retained beyond 2 February 2026 (except as needed to comply with laws), and your account and data will be deleted.

To move to a Google Account, open the Fitbit app, go to app settings, and look for the option to move Fitbit to your Google Account (you may need to update the app in order to continue). You can also download or delete your data anytime on or before 2 February 2026.

    You can learn more here.

  • Thanks seilogramp, I am old and dotty and I mucked it up!  Bought a new Garmin watch and hate the Garmin Connect app and would like to use my Garmin watch in Fitbit App as so easy to use and has everything I want in the app.  Do you know if I can get a similar app to my Fitbit app or can I add my Garmin watch to my Fitbit?  Sorry to all for people so stupid and muddled.

  • Many of us hate the Connect app, but we are stuck with it.

  • Have you tried customizing it to see what metrics you prefer? That link will give you the steps to do it if you haven't.
