Challenges Garmin connect plus

I saw that there were new challenges on Garmin Connect and I was excited, but I was hugely disappointed to find out that you have to subscribe to take part.

And it's really way too expensive. I'm really disappointed that things like challenges are now partly behind a paywall.

Could you please make these challenges free, or add other ones? We already pay a lot for the watches, so at least leave the challenges accessible.

  • The usual challenges that we've seen every month for a long time now are still available for free. Three new challenges were also added for everyone: April Steps Podium, April Photo Share and April Likes.

  • I like the Connect+ Challenges, but I hate the Challenge system becoming "pay to win". Me and my friends like to compete trying to get the challenges in. But now people paying for Connect+ will be in a league of their own.
    The whole system is broken.
If Connect+ challenges are here to stay, I have this idea:
If A was (Garmin-) friends with B, when B subscribed to Connect+, give A access to Connect+ challenges for free (as long as B is a subscriber).
That way, at least groups of friends can continue comparing their trophies.

  • You have missed the point entirely. For some the challenges are important and those points are hard earned and getting to the next level is a huge achievement. Now those that pay will have far more opportunities to get those badges and get to those levels faster, it is no longer a level playing field.

  • It hasn't been a level playing field for years, with region-specific badges, watch-specific badges and the Tacx badges. I'm currently working towards Level 8 and will feel proud to get there, especially if I can do it this year. What other folk do is irrelevant.

  • I agree, garmin is expensive to use to begin with, you have to buy a watch that starts at $300 to be able to use the app to begin with, challenges are meant to be challenges and hard work to achieve, not pay and get the levels quicker, or use the social media side of it and get rewarded, they are suppose to be sports watches.

Challenges and badges should be accessible to all users not have to get another watch to get them or pay extra for them

  • Voicing my opinion here as well. Having to pay money for additional challenges / opportunities to earn points is getting away from the nature of the game. Not a good move, Garmin. Please don't continue down this path.
