Is there a way to disable the tile overlay in GCW maps

I already disabled the popularity heatmap overlay, but the annoying tiles keep popping up. 

EDIT:
Found it... I had the statshunters extension loaded in Chrome which caused the tile overlay. I've searched so long for that.
