Problems Uploading to Connect

Hi guys 'n' gals,

Having trouble uploading my most recent run to Garmin Connect. I normaly do it through the Upload New Activities button on the Upload screen, and it all happens as if by magic.

Since yesterday though - I've tried this 6 or so times - it gets so far through the upload (ranging from 16-81%) and it just freezes, and eventually shuts down Mozilla.

Also tried a manual upload, and this too freezes. Any ideas why this has just started happenning? Was working fine last weekend, but all of a sudden...?:confused:

  • Just got it to work by Uploading From a List. Still, question remains about problems using other methods. Would be interested to hear back from y'all.

    Are you by chance on a Mac? If so the answer may be found in the Known Issues/Solutions forum.

    What device are you using?
    Is the software on the device up to date?
    Also might check to see if your Garmin Communicator Plugin is up to date.

  • I recently switched to Firefox as a browser and I cannot upload to GC. It freezes around 16% when I try to upload from a list and stays that way. Then it crashes.

    When I just try to upload new activities, it says it has uploaded them and the new ones are not there.

    Also, why does the communicator plugin have to be downloaded EVERY time you upload data? That's a bit frustrating.

    GARYUFM and LABUCKLAND, please send details of your system:

    Operating system
    Browser and version
    Security

    As has been stated, make sure you have the latest Plugin and device software installed.

    LABUCKLAND, you should not have to install the Plugin each time you upload. Perhaps the info will help us troubleshoot the problem.

  • For whatever it's worth in the troubleshooting process...

    I've experienced this same issue before, however, at least in my case it appears to be very sporadic and unpredictable.

    It behaves as they describe, hanging at some random point (percentage complete) during the upload process.

    Typically when it happens it may happen as many as three or four consecutive times before it goes through, but typically persistence pays off at it accepts it. Sometimes leaving it and trying later works best I've found.

    When it's acting up I've tried IE, Firefox and Chrome and all have the same problem. Same as when it's working, they all work fine, so it doesn't appear to be browser related. (OS: Windows XP professional)

    I have an Edge 305 with all software up to date. and always take the option to "select from list" when uploading.

    Want to think someone on the forum suggested clearing the history on the device as a possible fix...which I did...trying to remember if it's happened since then. I don't think so but I'm not sure! As I mentioned earlier is really sporadic and only happens often enough to be a mild annoyance.

    Clearing the history might be worth a shot!
