Are there differences in TCX file format between GTC and Garmin Connect?

I have a number of older activities, the original data is lost, but I had uploaded them to MotionBased and they've since been moved to Garmin Connect. I've exported these activities from GC as TCX files. In a cursory perusal of the files, they are filled with data.

However, I then try to import them into the TrainingPeaks product WKO+ and they produce empty results. According to the TrainingPeaks support staff they "only support tcx files from Garmin Training Center".

So I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between TCX files produced by Garmin Connect (which one would assume were produced originally by GTC upload) and the TCX files produced by Garmin Training Center. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping that this might just be an easy format or header issue in the XML that I could quickly transform and thus be able to import these older activities, since right now GC is the only location where this data resides.

If you have the same activity in Training Center and in Garmin Connect, you can use a simple file compare program to see what the difference is between the two files.

I could try that with some more recent activities, but unfortunately not with the ones I'm trying to recover from Garmin Connect. I'll try it this weekend though and see if anything stands out. I was hoping someone familiar with the file specifications might be on the boards and able to save me some hassle though. :D
