For anyone else reading this comment, here’s a link to a general procedure for finding out the Connect IQ store link for any given device. (The link isn’t easily guessable in some cases.) It does require a computer, and the steps are a bit technical.

If you own the device in question, an easier to get the device-specific store link is to open the store from within Garmin Express on a PC or Mac.

Garmin confirmed this is a design change. The only conclusion I can draw from this is they don't want people to use the web store any more since it's no longer easy to get there.

I hope they put some effort into updating the mobile app. The faces on there are s small I can barely make out what's on them with my reading glasses on!

You can just open https://apps.garmin.com for the regular CIQ store page which isn't device-specific or search google for "connect iq store".

And again, if you want to open the CIQ store page that's specific to a device you own:

- Open Garmin Express on PC or Mac

- Connect your device via USB cable

- Click on your device in Garmin Express

- Click IQ Apps

- Click Get More Apps

- This will open the device-specific store page in your browser (you do have to log in with your account). At this point you can just bookmark the page

If it would help, I could make a post with links to all of the device-specific CIQ store pages, if anyone would be willing to sticky it. (In a lot of cases, you *can* guess the link though.)

Thanks, I got all that. My point is few will do that if they were relying on the link in Connect. The only reason to remove it to force people to the mobile app.

Yeah I agree 100%.

I think we've already seen other signs of this:

- the redesign of the Connect website home page so it basically has the same UX as the new Connect app home page (resulting in much less functionality for the website). There was a minor brouhaha about that right on these forums, and even DCR mentioned it iirc. He also mentioned that he *never* uses the Connect website.

- for newer devices, certain user profile settings (like HR zones) which used to be available in the Connect website are only available in the app (or on the phone)

As a runner, I will say that most or all of my Garmin-wearing peers do not use the Connect website, regardless of age (I run with ppl from 25 to 60+). Many of them do not even use the Connect app (unless absolutely necessary), they just use the Strava app (and not the Strava website.)

Most non-techie normies I talk to will not use a computer for *anything* (other than school or work), even if there's a gun to their head. They would prefer to do everything on their phone, and when they do things on their phone, they would prefer to use apps whenever possible, not websites.

I've had convos with more than one person (between 29-39, not super young) which went like this:

Them: "How do I see X in Garmin? This would be really helpful and useful for me!"

Me: "Welll, unfortunately there's no way to see X in the Connect app, but there's the 3rd-party website you can use. It works best on a computer, but you can kinda use it on your phone."

Them: "That's ridiculous! This is [2016/2020/2024/2025]!!! I wanna see X in an app on my phone"

So they end up not bothering to see X (even though they really wanted to see X), simply because there isn't an easy and convenient way to do it on their phone.

If you look at the garmin subreddit, which has a lot more users than these forums, nobody ever talks about the Connect website either. It's always all about the app.

So I get why Garmin wants to prioritize the Connect and Connect IQ apps over the corresponding websites. It's just too bad that the Connect website and app don't have feature parity. No matter which one you choose, you're losing some sort of functionality or user-friendliness that's available in the other one.

And it's too bad for people who would just rather use a computer or tablet (have to admit this type of user has been in the minority for 10+ years now, though).

In general, I think phones have replaced computers as the indispensable computing appliance that everyone needs, and computers have gone back to being niche products for tech enthusiasts, developers and gamers. (Again, other than the obvious uses for school and certain kinds of jobs.)

Well, I did post an additional link for all app types for Venu 3, as opposed to the original link which was just for watchfaces in the accepted answer. You can see that the link isn't a super obvious variant of the watchfaces link, although it might've been possible to guess it.

The link I posted, for all Venu 3 app types, should be the same link that was opened when you clicked on your device on the Connect website and clicked on the store link. I figured that might be useful for you since it's a direct replacement for what you used to do, but I guess not.

It's not like I simply regurgitated either my previous comment or the accepted answer. Yeah, I reiterated one thing (with added details), and also added additional information that had not previously been posted.

I also offered to make a post with *all* the links for every device, but there's obviously zero interest, so I won't bother.

I will point out that users have previously posted about being unable to guess the store links for recent devices (such as Fenix 8, Fenix 8 and Instinct 3), or mistakenly believing that the store links did not exist at all, which proves that some users are using device-specific links for the Connect IQ store website. I assume they are a tiny minority of the users who even use the website at all.

And my point is that *you* can use any of the links that have been posted, even if others can't or won't. So *you* can still make the informed decision to use the website, even if others will be herded to the mobile app.

I don't think the store website is going away any time soon, as the website is the only way for developers to upload and manage their own apps. (Hopefully they won't do something crazy like remove all functionality except for that.)
