merging workout data

Is it possible to merge two activities data into one. I ask as I spin on Keiser bikes and use the MSeries app to collect my performance data, however my heart rate using my gamin can't be connected so at the moment I've two workouts in my garmin connect day and I'd like to merge the two data files into one. Is there a workaround for this?

    Why?

If you mean adding the HR from one activity into the other one, then there is no simple way to do it without external tools. Rather either just connect the bike sensors to your Garmin device, and record the activity with it, or turn on HR broadcasting from your watch (or use a HRM strap), and use the external app. However, using 3rd party apps (except of some certified exceptions like Zwift, Rouvy, TrainerRoad, ...) will not impact Garmin metrics like Training Load, Training Effect, Training Status, FTP, and many others, so using your Garmin device to record the activity is definitely the preferred way.

  • Gotoes got a function to combine data from different files: https://gotoes.org/strava/Combine_GPX_TCX_FIT_Files.php

You have to export both files and upload them to Gotoes, select the data you want and then export again, delete the original files in Garmin Connect and then import the new file.

You might have to make a donation to get all functions. Not sure exactly what functions are locked without it since I've made a donation and got full functionality.

  • Hi Andy, thaks for the heads up on this it appears the Gotoes site should do it I just need to donate to get access to that feature Thumbsup

  • Hi Trux, thanks for the reply. I think my particular set up and the Keiser spin bikes fall through a gap in compatability. I have a Fenix 8 paired with an older garmin HRM-Dual which as far as I can see won't 'talk live' to the Keiser Mseries app that the generation of bikes we have at our gym use. I could buy a pulse heart rate strap which will talk to Keiser and then import that data but I'm not going to do that RN. I will try to see if broadcasting HR direct from my watch into the Keiser M series app works and will update this thread if it works.

Both Fenix 8 and HRM-Dual can broadcast the HR also over Bluetooth, not only over ANT+ like some old devices. Hence connecting them to a Keiser bike should be possible.

There is also the K2pi converter that allows connecting the Keiser bike directly to your Garmin watch, hence recording all the metrics directly to Garmin Connect, though that costs some money.
