Temperature stopped appearing on activity map

Since the 25 January 2025, the temperature and wind don't appear on my maps.  My security settings are set to everyone and even setting them to me only, makes no difference.  I also found that the syncing is now less successful (not showing some of my latest activities).  Only after re-syncing am I able to get all my activities.  Can anyone help please...?

  • I have done a fresh install of Windows on my PC.  Installed all new Garmin software. I have tried Edge and Chrome... Google maps picture still have no temperature, weather or wind.  All my old details have them, but not the latest activities.

    I am close to an international airport.  I have not changed location.

  • Could you post a link to one of your activities missing the weather data? Open the activity in Garmin Connect Web, make it visible to Everyone (see the padlock icon in the top right corner of the page), and post here the URL from the address line of the browser.

  • Sorry trux, but I don't feel comfortable doing this.  The padlock is unlocked though.  I tried lock and unlock, no change.  I am sure it must be a Garmin update issue that affects me.  My browser is stock... no blockers or add-ons.  I have Garmin only on my PC installed.

    I wonder if it would have been possible to back to a previous version before the update?

    This makes Garmin a little less interesting for me, sadly Disappointed

    Older version of Garmin Connect Web? That's not possible. Or are you referring to the phone app? I assumed the web, since this is the forum for GC web. The Android app can be indeed downgraded, by installing an older version for example from apkmirror.com. However, there does not seem to be any problem with either of them - I see the weather panel on both sides. This is why I wanted to see your activity.

    If you do not feel comfortable posting the link to an activity here, send it to a friend, and ask whether he can see the weather info on the activity map. You can also try alternative Internet connection, or checking the activity from another location (work, friends, family, public PC,...). Your access to the server with weather data may be blocked by CloudFlare (a kind of firewall service Garmin uses for securing their servers).

  • trux, thanks for the good alternative suggestions.

    1) I have sent it to a friend of mine who also have Garmin installed... no luck

    2) I opened the link on my phone using a different internet connection... no luck

    3) I tried a VPN connection and then giving CloudFlare the necessary permission... no luck 

    4) Garmin uses a "Google map" in my case.  I changed that maps to "Here Maps" and "OpenStreetMap"... no luck 

  • Perhaps there is no weather data available in your location. Try recording a brief test activity little bit further away. I am afraid that without seing the data of a sample activity, I cannot help more. I recommend reaching out to the Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com

  • trux, I have sent a message to Garmin as you suggested and from this morning, the weather on my maps is now back... YEEEHHH!!!!.
