account deleted

My Garmin account was deleted "due to inactivity". The email says I haven't been on the account in two years which is false - I logged in a few months ago. It is true that I haven't uploaded any activity for awhile, but I still own two Varia radars. Is it necessary to have the Garmin Connect account for these two? That is, is the account needed for updates?

Thanks.

  • Is it really deleted? Sometimes users accidently create extra accounts and those extra accounts are deleted after years of inactivity.

I'm not sure if an account is needed for updates. Start Garmin Express and check.

  • My account was also deleted and Garmin provides no phone or email on the Contact Us site. I have a working device and bought lifetime updates so this seems like fraud.

  • I received an email saying my account was deleted. The Garmin website says any emails warning about deletion is a scam. This is a new account created to try to get support because I paid for lifetime updates and still have a working device. So, I consider the account deletion to be fraud unless they fix the problem by restoring from a backup so I can continue to get updates.

  • Garmin says that "Multiple notifications are sent to the email address on the profile prior to deleting the account." so they say that they will give you email warnings about deletion.

Do you have a link to the page that says that email warnings about deletion is a scam? Was it in an official Garmin page or was it from a user in this forum?
