I was recently covering the tour of britain cycle race.
On the following link you could live track the race (leaders, Peloton, and broom wagon). This worked well except for a few areas where mobile telephone reception dropped out.
In the options at the top the track can be superimposed on road, aerial and OS maps, which is very useful as it contains contour elevation information as supplied by Ordinance survey
