Download GPX, KML, or TCX files contain no GPS data

For at least the past week I've been unable to download a GPX of my most recent activity. When I attempt to download either a GPX, KML, or TCX file I receive a activity_0.xxx where xxx matches the file extension. Each file has some information within them but absolutely no GPS data. FIT export work as expected.

For example, in activity_0.kml only contains:

xsi:schemaLocation="earth.google.com/.../2.1 ">earth.google.com/kml2.1.xsd"
xmlns:xsi="">www.w3.org/.../XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="">earth.google.com/.../>

GPX is similar. It contains some metadata but no GPS points. TCX contains laps, but no GPS. I suspect this is some kind of Garmin Connect Web processing error of some kind.

Looks like a bug in GC at some activity types. I recommend reporting it to the Support. You should be still able to save the activity as Course, and then exporting the GPX track from there. See the details in th other thread.

Thanks Trux. Unfortunately, I'm exporting a GPX file to post on my personal web-site. What you've shared will give me a track; however, I lose all my stats (power, hr, cadence, etc.).

Over to support I go. I'll post if I receive an update.

In that case, link Garmin Connect with Strava (if you did not do it yet), and export the GPX file from there.
