Stop Garmin counting Active Calories - can I turn this off?

There are so many people that have started threads on the double counting of counting gamrin does.
Is there any was I can just turn off Active Calories so that it only includes activity calories?

  • No.
It wouldn't make sense either. The basal metabolic rate (resting calories) are ONLY the calories that the body uses to keep the organs alive. Anything over and above this are active calories.
For example: if you lie MOTIONLESS in bed, you only consume the basal metabolic rate (resting calories). As soon as you start moving, you consume resting calories +  ACTIVE CALORIES.

Conversely, during a workout the body also consumes resting calories in addition to active calories.

Yes, that's true, although there is no double counting of Calories, there are many posts of people who did not read the documentation, and have mistaken ideas about how the body metabolism works, and how the watch measures it.
