I'm with Greg Coaching plan for half marathon. I need to change spm to min/km

I started 3 weeks ago Greg coaching plan for half marathon and it is really confusing as race paces are showed in spm instead of min/km. I can't understand why is happening as my friends with the same plan can see it with min/km and I don't see any option to change it.

Can someone help?

  • Is this for ALL activities or just this one? Some training drills are specifically aimed at increasing cadence.

  • This is normal to this activity, the aim is to improve your cadence (steps per minute), which is different than your pace (min/km). Everything is fine.

  • Everything is fine with the drill. The aim is to train your cadence (steps per minute) not your pace (min/km).

  • Yeah, this looks like a cadence based drill:

    - The name of the workout is literally "Stride Repeats" (strides are short running intervals where you try to spin your legs as fast as possible, as opposed to trying to hit a certain speed)

    - The interval structure is 10 x 20 seconds run (with 45 seconds rest), which also lines up with a drill based on strides

I don't use Garmin coaching plans, but I do weekly run workouts irl with a group and:

    - we do strides as a warmup before every workout (but it's more like 3-4 x 15s strides)

    - it's often recommended for us to do 4-6 x strides after steady state short to medium length runs (e.g. 6-10k). (This helps train your body to spin your legs fast while you're tired.)

Basically, strides are not only useful as a run workout, but also as a warmup for run workouts and a post-steady run mini-workout.
