non-fitness device out in the cold

I understand that non-fitness devices did not yet make the switch to using garmin connect (I have an etrex that I use for mountain biking), so I was continuing to use motionbased (even though it was horribly slow). Now motionbased has been down for four/five days... where do I go from here. Are you just leaving me (us) out in the cold with no way to use motionbased OR garmin connect?

It's hard to believe this could not have been done better.
Will motionbased be back when will my device work with GC?
Please advise.

    I'm in the same boat as you.
    This is just ridiculous.. I paid for MB service and now they just cut me off ?

    I see complaints from people who'se data is not migrated completely (mine isn't either btw), but how about simple not being able to use your device anymore with the site ?

    I have an email thread going with Garmin support, I'll post the result here.

    I tried uploading over the weekend but the site was completely down.
    It's back up now.
    Now I can load my trips from my VeTrex Vista, but I can't save them to my activities.

    I had an email exchange with a snotty Garming Support person whose only reaction was 'Yeah, I know', when I told her that my Etrex does not work with the new Garmin Connect website and that MB was down.

    So I called today and a much more helpful person check with a different department of Garmin and he told me that the HandHeld units would also be moved to Garmin Connect at some point, and that MB would stay up until that was completed...

    So I'm feeling a little better, although it sucks that I can't save my trips now.. let's hope that this gets fixed, but I am worried that they blocked it to prevent the other (fitness) users from uploading trips....

    Hi guys,

    Apologies for the errors the past couple of weekends/days. It looks like both of you have been able to upload and submit your activities to your Digest. As the Garmin agent told you, MTBROBVB, MotionBased will be up and running for customers with hand held devices until Garmin Connect is opened for these devices. That should be sometime before the end of the year.
