Tanita BC-1000 and Garmin Connect

How do I clear out the Health portion of Garmin Connect? I've started using the Tanita BC-1000 and it sent false data points to GC Health. Yesterday it sent 1445 lbs for my weight. That makes the graph useless with such a high value. Is there any way to clear all entries from GC Health and start over without deleting all of my activities too? It is also sending erroneous data for other fields in the Health section. I lost over 3 lbs of bone mass overnight. Maybe I should call my doctor.

TIA
  • delete erroneous data point (weight from 3/31/2007)

How do you delete that data point?
  • How do you delete that data point?

You have to over-write it with a different data point. So I just choose something benign, or in the middle.

That is not the same as deleting a point. My problem is that I have an erroneous date, which is 2 years before the scale was even invented. 7-30 days is insufficient date-span to measure these parameters in a meaningful way, but if I select "see all data" all my real data is scrunched up on the right-hand side. Come on, Garmin, people have been complaining about this problem FOR A YEAR. In 2009, you said you were working to find a solution "as quickly as we can." Deleting a data point should be a no-brainer.

multiple health data points in one day?

    -Damon-,

Now that it appears you've added the functionality of deleting data points, what are the chances you could change the code to allow for multiple readings in the same day?

I have a 310xt and the Tanita BC-1000, and I could be mistaken, but it seems that the Garmin connect health tab only records one scale reading per day, over-writing any previous readings in the day with the most current. Is this correct? Can it be changed?

Maybe this is overkill, but I would like to track weight fluctuations over the course of a day (weigh-in morning and evening), as well as before and after workouts. I'm particularly interested in tracking H20 Percentages in this manner.

Can anyone help me see / read / track multiple health data points in the same day?

Wirebook / DC Rainmaker, any thoughts / comments / suggestions?

    Thanks,
    DDJR

Are there any plans to allow multiple health points per day? It seems to be just the one per day. Can't be that hard can it to allow a few more data points or is the issue connected with the limited ability to delete a point?

Its my first post here after Googling on the issue and finding this post. I have a Tanita scale and an Edge 800 and wanted to track how my weight, and other data, changes after various activities.

    I only have edge 705

Can I use one of these scales with the Garmin connect site if I don't have a garmin product to load the data from?

Can I load data direct from scale to garmin connect?

You can load directly from the scale to Tanita's Healthy Edge software, using the ANT stick. This works for PC only; note thatTanita does not have a Mac version of their Health Edge software.

But I think that you need a Garmin device to get your data into Garmin Connect. In order to load directly from the scale to the Tanita Software you must first temporarily turn off the Garmin ANT Agent software (which is what loads from Garmin device to Connect and/or Training Center).

    Tanita BC 1000 arrived 4th July 2011

I am using the Tanita BC 1000 in conjunction with a Garmin Edge 800 and use a Mac, with the services of Safari, to access Garmin Connect.

The ‘out of box’ experience was excellent, pop the batteries into the BC, hitting Settings on the Edge and selecting Weight Scale on the displayed menu achieved a rapid ANT+ connection.
The ANT+ signal is stronger than advertised, though of course it is necessary to be close enough to step onto the BC in order to make use of it.

Uploading the collected Health Data from the Edge was also faultless and amending the original ‘guesstimate’ of my weight was easily corrected using the Manual Input ‘button‘ on the Connect page.

My main issue is that the Health Data Values, on the left hand side of the Connect Graph, are unexpected, repetitive and seemingly inconsistent for the constituents indicated below:-
    Weight: Levels show as e.g. from the bottom; ###.7; ###.7; ###.8; ###.8; ###.8; ###.9; ###[+1].0; ###[+1].0; ###[+1].0; ###[+1].1:
Bone Mass: Similar type of scenario to that shown above for Weight.
Physique Rating: All levels show the same Value.
Visceral Fat: Similar type of scenario to that shown above for Physique Rating.
All the other constituents seem satisfactory.

Lack of Mac Software for the BC and inability to store other than current Health Data on the Edge prohibits full use of the gathered information when not connected to the internet. Needing the Health Data available when visiting the Doctors this information has to be copied and pasted to make full use of it. The Copy and Paste operation is rather ‘messy’ to say the least, indicating that a means of Exporting the Data covering [say] the last month is necessary.

Perhaps I am repeating a subject already well discussed or have missed something?
Is there any ‘news’ regarding the BC Mac Software?
All input will be much appreciated.

Edit: Health Values Update 6th July 2011
Uploading further Health Data has corrected the Weight Values, on the left hand side of the Connect Graph.
Bone Mass: Still has a similar type of scenario to that originally shown above for Weight.
Physique Rating: All levels still show the same Value.
Visceral Fat: Now showing a similar type of scenario to that originally shown above for Weight.
