Tanita BC-1000 and Garmin Connect

How do I clear out the Health portion of Garmin Connect? I've started using the Tanita BC-1000 and it sent false data points to GC Health. Yesterday it sent 1445 lbs for my weight. That makes the graph useless with such a high value. Is there any way to clear all entries from GC Health and start over without deleting all of my activities too? It is also sending erroneous data for other fields in the Health section. I lost over 3 lbs of bone mass overnight. Maybe I should call my doctor.

TIA
  • I have the exact same question -- how to modify or delete data from the health area of Garmin Connect? If this is not currently possible, it definitely needs to be.

The bar graph is an easy fix. It is because you are using Internet Explorer 8 and Garmin has not yet updated its website to support IE8.

See the little icon on IE8 which looks like a broken page? Click on it while you are trying to see your graph and from then on IE8 will know to load Garmin in backward compatibility mode.
  • Does anyone know if/when the BC-1000 will upload to Garmin Connect?

Maybe it already does and my PC isn't compatible (running Windows 7 - which seems to be compatible with most devices that are compatible with XP).

    Thanks,

We are aware of this problem and are currently working to correct it as quickly as we can.

As for the other fields under the Health tab, there isn't a way to manually change that data, or manually enter that data. At this time, we do not have any plans to allow users to manually enter data, other than weight, under the Health tab.

That's a terrible shame. You've essentially made that feature usable for people who only have one of two Garmin GPS receivers AND one particular model of scale. I have the bc-1000 and four Garmin GPS receivers. I'm not buying a fifth JUST so I can use your health tab. The scale CAME with a Garmin branded ANT stick...wtf is up with that?

If you're not going to open that feature to anyone, then why have it at all? I can only imagine that less than 1% of GC users can really use the health tab at all. Tracking ONLY weight on the site is kinda dumb. While it may be unique for a website, it's certainly not unique when you take computer software into consideration.
  • Talk about limiting your client base.....

    Subject: Tanita Question / BC-1000

Hi Steve, Here are answers to your questions:

Currently the BC-1000 does not communicate with the FR305 Garmin watch, only the FR60 and 310xt models have the scale function.

The BC-1000 is only available in the US and Canada through US retailers and www....

Also, the scale does not talk to MAC computers, but can communicate to Garmin Connect through the FR60 or 310xt downloads.

For those of you out side the US tuff..
  • Incorrect Weight

I too have the issue of the Tanita BC-1000 sending an incorrect weight which has completely blow out my weight graph. I attempted to manually add the correct weight for that date, but the incorrect weight comes back. If you are unable to afford end-users to correct the date & weight, then it would be greatly appreciated if you could offer the Customer Support of removing the incorrect data for end-users who have been wrong by no fault of their own.

I simply love my Garmin GPS watch, and I was loving the Tanita BC-1000 until it made me weight 655 kilos on December 5th.

    All the best, Dean
  • I'd like to see this as well.

Even if not for incorrect data points from the watch, but rather from me.

For example, I often will take a quick measurement pre and post run to see how I am with respect to hydration. These aren't generally 'valid' with respect to my average weight across a period of time (month, etc...), but will really mess up the graphs and my tracking of data.

Becaue the BC-1000 has no simple onboard display to look at weight without uploading to GC (meaning, I have to sync FR-60/310XT), the weight will automatically be uploaded.

A simple function to delete data points would be awesome.
  • Spurious values as well

I too have the same problem where the weight value is erroneous (65535) and I've simple resorted to temporarily editing the weight values on those dates if I need to see a longer term chart. The changes are not permanent unfortunately.
The capability to retroactively edit these would be good (or have the software make a call to discard what is obviously an incorrect weight).
