I have a Foreruner 220.
In the last 2 years or so, it hasn't been unusual for me to run indoors, on a treadmill. When I do, I turn off GPS off. It is not unusual for the distance recorded by my watch to be 30% to 40% short. After uploading these workouts, I edit the run to use the total distance as reported by the treadmill. Since I have the treadmill set on an incline, I also calculate the "ascent", and edit that.
Editing the distance doesn't change the distances of the laps. This results in the total distance run being greater than the sum of distances in the laps column.
My suggestion: When the total distance is edited, automatically and proportionally edit the distance of each lap.
For example, the treadmill recorded distance of a recent run is 8.01 miles. My FR220 estimated the distance was 4.16 miles. My Autolap distance is 0.5 miles.
8.01 / 4.16 is 1.92548076923. So, when I correct the distance, instead of each lap showing as 0.50 miles, they should each be about 0.96 miles. Except the last lap would be about 0.31 miles.
Since I do enter ascent, it would also be nice to have the total ascent distributed among the laps. Where reasonable, it would also be nice to have any other statistics affected by my edits recalculated. .
