Do deleted activities count toward challenges?

New Garmin user here using a Vivoactive 5. Are deleted activities supposed to count toward challenges? I did an indoor treadmill walk and had to stop for a second so I ended and saved the activity. I decided to get back on the treadmill and walk some more and manually changed the start time, activity time and distance of the second activity to encompass the first activity too so it could all count as one activity. I deleted the first walking activity, but the distance and activity are still counting toward my Active January and January Walking challenges. It's driving me nuts that my totals aren't accurate anymore and that everything from the first part is double-counted now. Is there any way to fix this/get it to not count toward the challenges anymore? My walking and activity totals everywhere else on the app don't count the deleted activity.

  • No, deleted activities do not count, but removing activities will not update the progress until you log another activity that counts for that challenge.

An edit of another activity that counts for the challenge might trigger the update.

  • Also, if you deleted the activity on the watch, but it already got uploaded to garmin connect, then you need to delete it in garmin connect as well.
