System Messages in local Time Zone

Could the system messages that appear at the top of the page in a yellow box please use the local timezone (either from the computer or the user preferences if logged on)?

For example the current system message is "Garmin Connect will be unavailable due to maintenance on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM CDT". I have no idea what CDT is, let alone relative to my own TZ. Even UTC would be more helpful than CDT.

Many thanks.

I agree - most international systems are able to display the relevant time to the user!

Out of interest what is the system going down for today? - will new features be added or is it just a bug fix??

On the subject of timezones, it doesn't seem to handle British Summer Time either - the time here is currently 14.56 but the site seems to be an hour out. Forum is fine, it's just uploaded data that says the workout was an hour earlier than it actually was.

Humm, if I was to speculate, let see:
A short notice before a short maintenance, without announcement on the forum
(or I could not find it).

My bet: Probably replacing a defective unit in a RAID disk array, or a
    defective switch.

IT people might have a better guess.
we will most likely never know... unless I am wrong and GARMIN do add features...

Garmin does have customers outside the US.

GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) doesn't observe DST (Day Light Savings Time). Users in the UK should set their time zone preference to Western European Time within the Settings page, since this time zone observes DST. You'll see that this time zone is auto assigned to activities recorded with a GPS device in this region.

    Hope that helps.
