When I subscribe to a thread, and select "instant email notification" I still don't seem to get the notice. I've check my spam folder, and there's nothing from garmin. My email address on mygarmin.com is correct, and I assume that's what is being used here. Any clue what I might try next?
My guess is that a mail server somewhere along the way is rejecting the messages from this board in an effort to provide better security and customer service for their members. This will often happen with ISPs. It's also possible the network routing is funny somewhere along the way to the mail server.
OK, I've set up a new, unique email on a mail server that I control. I've changed to that email in mygarmin... now I just need somebody to post here. Hopes are not high, however, as I tried this early on, but with a recycled address.
Thanks. No love. I can send myself a message and watch it hit. Nothing hits from garmin though. There are no filters on this server, and I'm viewing directly on the server so it isn't being filtered between the server and my email client. :sigh:
For those keeping score at home, today I received my first email notification from one of the many threads I'm subscribed to. I believe that I have my address set to my gmail account - though I had it set to the same account originally when nothing worked, it seems to work now. At least once. I thought I'd share the happy news.
Are the planets aligned just right, or did somebody do something?

This is good news! I can now remove email alerts from this thread. Getting really annoyed by all the alerts. Can't imagine being alerted on every thread.

... which is why I'd never set the global "subscribe to every thread I post in" normally. Subscribing to threads of interest is a great way to keep up with them though.
Anyway... suddenly, magically, it seems to be working for me. I hope it has improved for the other folks who were having trouble as well.
