Having discovered that the Nüvi 350 doesn't accept RoadTrip routes, I was about to purchase a replacement for the 350 when I discovered that doing so would mean sacrificing the nüMaps Lifetime subscription which I had purchased a week earlier. The advertising for nüMaps Lifetime discloses that it is tied to a particular device, but only in the fine print is it revealed that it is also tied to its original purchaser. Hence I could sell the 350, but not the nüMaps Lifetime subscription. This double limitation cost Garmin a sale: I decided to live with the limitations of the 350.
Suggestion: Tying each nüMaps Lifetime subscription only to a specific device might appear to diminish revenue in the short term, but it would eliminate a substantial obstacle to purchases of new devices, most of which would probably be accompanied by purchases of new nüMaps Lifetime subscriptions.
