Different perspective: New to Garmin Connect and LOVE it

From reading the threads, I get the idea that many of you who were involved with something called "Motion Based" are not happy with the new Garmin Connect. I feel for you while the bugs are being worked out (no transition is easy, but you have to have patience)

As one who just purchased a Garmin FR60 and so the only thing I know is Garmin Connect, I LOVE IT!! I love the "no hassle, no thought" automatic upload, I love the connection to scale, I love the goals, I love the slick interface.

I come from a Nike SDM background, which I used since my first marathon in 2000. I also love how much more accurate the FR60 is, the consistency from run to run, and the easier to read watch face (why Nike made the "seconds" number so small is beyond me).

Seems like the Garmin Connect programmers are getting kinda hammered so just want to let them know that there may be a "silent majority" who are perfectly happy and look forward to the continuing improvement.

Forums, such as this, tend to attract those users that are having issues using their device or software. So right off the bat some of these users are not happy. Though it may seem like the developers are getting slammed for the most part, the silent majority, like you say, are quietly enjoying their Garmins.
  • I haven't been able to do much with GC other than view my activities yet, since my GPS is not yet supported.

GC does lack some features of Motionbased, which stinks...but doesn't burn me up too bad. I see new features showing up from time to time, so that's good. The developers are still hard at work. I imagine building this site from the ground up has been tough.

The interface with GC is better, IMO, than MB, which is a bonus. I have yet to try uploading anything on a Sunday or Monday, but if it uploads at all, that would be a HUGE improvement over MB, which crapped out on Sun/Mon due to the high volume of uploads. It's taken awhile, but it seems like GC is shaping up to be a decent service.
