Web Services API? Beta?

Posting this for Jason, who doesn't yet have forum permissions:

There are plans to open the api up sometime next year. I really don’t know anymore than that. The schedule is really quite fluid, all I know is won’t be until at least mid ‘10. There are no development plans in the works for the api for the next few releases (we shoot for about a release a month).

I can guarantee we won’t be providing soap services. You’ll have the options of json or xml.

In any case, I’d love to open the api up, but we’re not stable or consistent enough for outside developers to have any fun with. I’ll be working a little on some of this cleanup in the next few months, but it’ll be a while until we publicize it.

Webservices/REST API

I also am very interested in a REST/Webservices API to the Garmin Health and Fitness data for a mobile application we are building.

Are there more recent updates to the status of these APIs or a better place to find updates?

Would like to alpha/beta web services

Would be very interested in helping to alpha/beta the web services. There are lots of statistics features that I'd like to be able to generate, but the site currently doesn't support.

I am interested in this as well. Any word? Connect appears to have serious search issues maybe an API would solve some of these problems

A read only REST API with would be a good first shot. Any news on this?

We can all insert/update our data now through the web plugins - so to postpone that access through API is OK (from my side at least:)

Still unreleased?

I've tried looking around and still haven't found documentation for the service. Did I just not find the right page or it is still unreleased? Thanks for your help.
