Where's My Location?

Don't get me wrong: I know where I am. I'm wondering where the Location information is.

It's about a week since the big "fix" on August 25, and Location is not showing up on my Activities.

I have found the Location column on the Activities tab; but, it is blank. Even Activities that have been added since the big "fix" on August 25 are blank.

I have been assuming that the only place where I can "see" Location is on the Activities tab. I have not been able to find it on the Dashboard, Calendar, or Report tabs. Is that correct?
  • I can't even find the "location" tab in my activities?

I also see the Location when in the Explore tab (when exploring other people's activities) and it's also blank for these activities.

  • Sorry, I have now realised how to add and remove tabs in my activities but I too have no location data.

I'm having the same issue. Location is not shown in My Activities nor in Explore.

For those poor souls who are still trying to find the Location field, I can help.

First, select the Activities tab. Then, hover your cursor over one of the column headings. This will activate a hidden point down arrow. Click the point down arrow. This action will pop up a hidden option called Columns with a point right arrow. Click the now un-hidden Columns box, and it will bring up a whole list of available data columns. Check the Location box to add it to your activities. Of course, the Location will be blank.

Do you think that anyone could have made it more difficult to find the Location information? Do you think that it's hidden away like that because there's no information in it? Do you think that Garmin will ever resond to any of these posts?

    1) you just started posting last night, you have to give us a little bit of time to respond
    2) you are correct that we are not showing the location column by default for the activity listings page until we have all the kinks in location worked out
    3) there were problems with our location name assignment process. we use a third party api to assign location name, and that was causing a considerable hurt on our servers when we first did the release, so we stopped the process. we are currently trying to resolve those problems so we can assign location name to all of your activities.

location, when problems are resolved, will show up on the dashboard, activity details page, activity listings page, and explore page. for the calendar, real estate is extremely limited for the small colorcoded summary, especially for users who perform many activities in a given day. BUT when you hover over an activity you'll see a magnifying glass in every browser except ie7. if you click on that little magnifying glass icon, you'll have a detailed summary show up that will have your location on it (when location is resolved).

Will a location field make public FR60 activities available in Explore?

When this location stuff is resolved will I be able to view my own public activities in Explore? Currently I can't find any of my own public activities even if I filter the search to my own user name.

I'm guessing this is because I have only FR60 data and Explore shows only activities with GPS (location) data??? Perhaps I'm wrong about this so can someone confirm this for me please? I'd just like my public data to be viewable by others but it's not even viewable to me :)
  • Location still blank!

    What about this problem today?

I have been using GC for a couple of weeks since i bought my 610 HRM device, and my location fields in activities are always blank!

Are you supposed to, in some way, add your own location? Or does GC still have this issue (2 years later)?
