Garmin Connect Goal Problem

I set up my weekly goals. I see my workout listed in my activities. Yet my, goal total has not included the miles. It recorded earlier miles, but not the ones today. Nor did today's go to the next goal. Is there a way to force this or manually do it?

Your goal starts on the 31st. Your last activity is on the 30th.

So you don't have any activities for your current active goals.

And tragically you can't change a goal start date, or create one in the past (yes, a terrible shortcoming). So you'll have to ride more this week to meet your goal. At least there's something positive to come out of that, right?

Actually on second look, there is something really weird going on with your goals.

Your historical goal for the previous week isn't including your run on Sunday. Looks like there's some kind of timezone issue going on with your activity/goal.

This is a fun workaround, update your activity's timezone to "Norfolk Time (Australia)". It'll appear for this goal. I'll mark this up as a bug.

Thank you for taking the time to post here.
So glad to see you acknowledge this limitation as serious.
I noticed it, but never brought it up.

Do I undersand from your post that this might be fixed in a future release ?

    Thanks
  • Another one here

Just to tell you, there are more cases like this. The same happens to me. After you made it possible to manually enter workouts I entered one for June (Indoorcycling), which would have let me reach June's target, not only in real world but in the documentation as well. When it wasn't reflected in the goal, I thought 'O.K. probably I can only enter data for active goals'.

Today I entered two workouts (via tcx-upload) for today (which should reach the goal for August), but these workouts weren't reflected in the goal either.

Maybe this helps you analyze the problem.

    Ashbrooke2 and Reini68,

Yup, you found a bug. Looks like the final day of your goal period is not being included in your goal progress accumulations. Both of you uploaded activities which occurred on the final day of your goal period, which is why they got ignored.

I'll mark it up as a bug and fix it in an upcoming release. Thanks very much for the feedback!

Also, Reini68, as for your indoor cycling activity, I only see one such activity on your account (on June 23) and it was included in your goal progress. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about it.

    Goals problem

I noticed the same problem. My device was telling me I met my goal but when you look at the historical goals, it was short of 100%. I believed the issue is when you set the start date. If you start it a day before, it will count 7 days from midnight of the first day so if you started Sunday to Monday at Midnight, it expires at Saturday to Sunday midnight. This is an educated guess. Someone more knowledgable than me should confirm.

Nope, the start date for a goal period is correct. Only the finish date is off by one day. Meaning that if you specify Monday to Sunday, it will currently do Monday at 12am to Saturday at 11:59pm (instead of Sunday at 11:59pm).

Again, sorry about the bug -- we'll fix this so that goal periods are accurate. Thanks.

I am having the same problem(s). If I understand what you are saying, would the activity not just roll on to the next weekly goal? That would make sense, not just disregarding the last day of your goal.

Mine have not worked out that way. Is the work around to set the goal to end one day later?

Thanks in advance for your response as well as a great product. I have used the 405 for about 3 months and love it. I am currnelty training for a 1/2 trail marathon on Spet. 20th. Thanks again.
