Edge inactivity should cause go to sleep

It's so annoying . . . . .to turn on my Edge 305 when starting a ride and discovering that it has Low Battery. Dang! I'm sure I turned it OFF yesterday. Maybe I forgot. Or maybe I accidentally turned the light on instead of turning the unit OFF.

So I do my training ride with only about 30 minutes of data recording.

Seems that the Edge knows when it's in motion. Would really like a feature that turns the unit OFF with a time-selectable setting. Like 10 minutes, 20 minutes, or 30 minutes; the unit turns itself OFF. Next day, I wouldn't be facing "Low Battery".
  • I have left it on once as well. Sucks but really user error. I use mine monthly over night to track resting and recovery HR and I would prefer it not to turn off.
I know, you could have it turn off only when not recording, then someone will forget to stop it.
I just make sure to double check it.

I also have an energizer Battery pack for it. I have used it once from dead for a ride that I could not get to t charger. Worked fine, get one and leave it on the garage for the 'just in case' days. Got mine at Walmart on sale for $10 with Batteries.

A small external battery that I could strap to my handlebars would be a good idea for those senior moments that I have every couple of weeks. I try to leave the '305 hooked to my computer's USB when not on the bicycle. But occasionally I come in so tired, hot, sweaty, and stinky that I forget even that.

If they added this little feature (that I submitted) it would cure 99% of my forgetfulness problems.

    Thanks for the hint.
