No Map Data

A number of my activities are showing up with "No Map Data found for this activity" when selecting the activity. I get no map, no graphs, elevation. These are are all activities that have been migrated from MB. Data seem to be missing or lost??!!

  • I see the date is from May. Did this activity recently get uploaded from your device to GC? If so, it is likely that the history on the device has reached its limit, and so older activities are being overwritten, leaving only summary data. Have you ever sent your activities to Training Center? If so, you may be able to export from there and import into GC.

well, i did not intend for this to have been uploaded from my device to GC. Prior to July, I used only Motionbased for all my activity uploads. This activity exists on MB, as does the map data. It has NOT been migrated over correctly. I Strongly believe that the 1st time i uploaded to GC, everything that existed in my edge 305 was uploaded by mistake. This accounts for many duplicates that exist in my account.

However, I have a number of activities that *should* have been migrated from MB, and do not appear to have been ported. I get the same map data unavailable error, and the activity names show up as untitled.. All data is present at MB, but it is not available on GC site. Heres an example:

    from MB:

    in GC:

Okay, I just looked at the post you pointed me to.. That is what Im seeing, for sure. (Im slightly amazed to see that this little Garmin Edge device has managed to save data is 2 years old..!)

One question.. Should I delete the untitled activities to ensure the migration ones are ported? Or can I wait and just delete them as the migrated ones appear.. Id prefer to just wait and knock out the duplicates as they show up. But i dont want to prevent these activities from being migrated.

Also, at this point, should i be expecting to see such a large number of activities unmigrated??!!

Thank you for your answer and time looking into this
  • The migration process from MB to GC has not completed yet. So, if you do have numerous activities without map data that you have uploaded to GC yourself, then I would go ahead and delete those.

In the interim, you can always export as TCX the existing activities from MB and upload them to GC if you need to show the data or have a record of them for your review. Keep in mind you may end up with duplicates down the road, but that would be a simple matter of deleting them in bulk.
